What’s  your photography style is?

Che tipo di fotografie fai?

My photographic  style is a kind of elegant reportage, but during the wedding there also are many moments for portraiture, casually posed images of the bride and groom. My priority is to capture everything that happens around you and every detail of the wedding, from the cake to the dress. I’d like to have an entire story to tell with images.  Usually I won’t  stop entire tables during receptions to make them pose for “table shots” , I prefer instead to capture spontaneous moments like when people laughing, smiling, dancing, or simply having great time!

Fotografo matrimoni in stile reportage elegante, ma non credo che la fotografia debba essere limitata ad un solo “genere”. Penso che durante il servizio ci sia un momento per ritratti eleganti, spontaneamente posati, ma anche molte occasioni per riprendere tutto quello che succede intorno a voi. Cerco sempre di riprendere tutti i dettagli del matrimonio, dal taglio della torta ai particolari dei vostri vestiti, così da creare un insieme di immagini più coinvolgente. Le immagini degli ospiti al matrimonio saranno pressoché in stile giornalistico. Non disturbo mai gli ospiti a tavola durante il ricevimento, preferisco invece riprenderli spontanei, sorridenti, durante un brindisi, mentre si divertono.

 

Do you take posed groups and family photos?

Fai sempre le foto dei gruppi?

Sure. I always suggest you to think before the wedding day of how many groups you will put together for the photos. I think 10 or 12 groups would be enough to have a nice coverage of the guests. These  groups are  quick, easy and informal and I try to make it pleasant and enjoyable for everything. Just letme have a list of the important group shots.

Certamente. Consiglio agli sposi di pensare prima i gruppi che vogliono fotografati e consiglio sempre di raggrupparli al massimo in 10 o 12 o addirittura in un unico gruppo di tutti gli invitati. Così facendo sarà più rapido e informale ma soprattutto non si annoieranno gli ospiti, anzi, sarà più divertente per tutti!

 

Can  we give you a list of locations in witch to be photographed?

Possiamo darti un elenco di posti dove vorremmo andare per le fotografie?

Sure. It’s a good idea to plan the locations with you, I’ll try to find the most interesting locations based on your requests and the best hour of the day to be there. I always do a short check of the locations before the wedding day.

Certo. E’ sempre bene pianificare le location degli scatti con voi, magari suggerendo i luoghi più interessanti a seconda dell’orario e delle stagioni. Spesso faccio un sopralluogo nei giorni antecedenti la cerimonia per verificare quali siano le migliori location del posto.

 

Coverage and travel

 

Do you have travel limitations ?

Hai delle limitazioni per gli spostamenti?

I have no limitations to reach a specific location in Italy or maybe abroad. I’m based in Florence and Chianti and these are my main playgrounds, but I could say that I am a destination wedding photographer! If you’ll  hire me for your wedding I’ll be happy to meet you anywhere in Italy.

Non ho limiti per raggiungere o seguire gli sposi. Parto da Firenze ma spesso mi sposto per tutta la Toscana e l’Italia per i matrimoni. Posso dire di essere un “destination wedding photographer”! Se doveste commissionarmi  il vostro matrimonio sarò felice di raggiungervi ovunque, sia in Italia che all’estero.

The arrangements for travel will be at my own charge and you will not be responsible for the trip and accommodation. I’ll plan all the costs in advance and I will ask you to accept and confirm a detailed quote at least one month in advance of the ceremony.

L’organizzazione degli spostamenti sarà a mio carico e voi non sarete responsabili per il viaggio o l’alloggiamento. Pianificherò tutte le spese in un preventivo dettagliato che vi chiederò di accettare e confermare con almeno un mese di anticipo prima della cerimonia.

 

Do you have an assistant? Or a second  photographer?

Hai un assistente? Un’ altro fotografo?

Yes, I mainly have an assistant that’s not necessarily a second photographer but who helps me as a second hand to hold a flash light or to arrange groups for family portraits. I also work with trusty professional photographers that will cover part of the reportage if necessary.

Sì, l’ assistente farà una minima parte degli scatti e mi assisterà per l’illuminazione e la gestione del servizio se necessario. Lavoro anche con altri colleghi fidati per una copertura maggiore della giornata se necessario.

 

Are you going to stay at the reception/party?

Rimarrai durante la cena o rinfresco del ricevimento?

If it’s important for you to have the full coverage of the wedding  I’ll be happy to stay until the end of the party.

Se per voi è importante avere una copertura totale del vostro matrimonio sarò a vostra disposizione per tutte le fasi del ricevimento.

 

How long will it take to have the images?

Quanto tempo ci vorrà per avere le immagini scelte?

I’ll give you a personal web gallery with low-res images about 2 weeks after the wedding for choosing your favorite shots (for the wedding album for example). The final hi-res images will be ready in 4/5 weeks. The wedding book, after your approval of the design,  will takes about 8 weeks for delivering.

Per darvi la possibilità di scegliere velocemente gli scatti, avrete una galleria on-line personale dopo due settimane della data di matrimonio. Se vorrete dei provini stampati o i file digitali saranno disponibili in circa 4/5 settimane della data di matrimonio. Dopo la vostra scelta finale ed approvazione per il design e l’impaginazione dell’album, vi consegnerò tutto il materiale in 8 settimane.

 

How many photos will you take?

Quante fotografie farai?

The number of images I capture depends on many factors,  how many people are invited, how long the event will is, the kind of album you like, if you choose to have full reportage of the wedding day and so on. The minimum is around 600 images, but it is often much, much more!

Il numero di fotografie spesso dipende da molte cose, il numero di ospiti, la durata dell’evento, e dal tipo di album o slideshow che sceglierete. Il nostro minimo è di 600 scatti, ma spesso è molto, molto di più!

Stampe o files?

 Making a wedding album is still my favorite way to enjoy the photos, you have the possibility of touching the work and you have an elegant object to preserve your memories. Obviously you might not want to have an album if you like to have only the files. I think the images are the important thing!

Creare un album è ancora il mio stile preferito, vi da la possibilità di toccare con mano il lavoro e di avere un oggetto elegante per conservare i vostri ricordi. Ovviamente non siete obbligati ad acquistarlo se desiderate il solo supporto digitale. Vi offrirò sempre sia l’uno che l’altro, sono le immagini che contano!

 

Can we have the originals in jpg/tif/raw?

Possiamo tenere gli originali in jpg/tif/raw?

I’ll give you the hi-res digital files on a USB key. When I give you the files you can do what you want with them, copies for family and friends or for you. I hold my copyright for promotional, editorial, samples and so on.

I file digitali (l’equivalente elettronico del negativo) in alta risoluzione saranno consegnati su un memoria USB. Quando i file vengono ceduti a voi potrete disporne a vostro piacere,  così potrete fare riproduzioni personali e copie illimitate per le vostre famiglie e gli amici. Io tratterrò il diritto d’autore per finalità promozionali, editoriali, campionari e così via.

 

What will my album look like?

Come sarà il nostro album?

You have two main choices. A traditional book with the prints pasted over the pages. Each print is separated from the others on the pages. In the modern wedding books the images are printed directly over the pages, on the same professional photographic paper, like a book you could buy in library. In both cases the layout of the book will be customized.

Avete due scelte. Nel libro in stile tradizionale le tue immagini sono stampate su carta fotografica e attaccate alle pagine. Le stampe sono separate tra loro. Questo è lo stile più classico di album di matrimonio. Nel libro moderno le immagini sono stampate direttamente sopra le pagine, sempre su carta fotografica professionale, come in un libro che potreste comprare in libreria. In entrambe i casi l’impaginazione sarà del tutto personalizzata.

 

How the web gallery works?

Come funziona la galleria on-line?

The web gallery is private, you’ll have a private folder on the website IntimateWedding where you can navigate quickly from all the pictures in low-res for a limited period, usually one year. You can share the private link with your family or friends if you want.

La galleria on-line è privata, avrete, cioè, un indirizzo privato su IntimateWedding dove tutte le tue fotografie del matrimonio saranno messe on-line e numerate per voi, la vostra famiglia o gli amici con cui le vorrete condividere e scegliere. Basterà fornire l’indirizzo personale a chi volete che visiti la galleria.

How much does a photo shoot?

Quanto costa un servizio fotografico?

It’s actually difficult to talk about prices without speaking to you about details of wedding. There are many thing to know before giving a price, travel costs, how long the shoot is, the necessity of having an assistant or a second photographer, the price can vary greatly! I know how is important for you, so I prefer to estimate the job carefully, better if  after meeting in person.

E’ veramente difficile dare un prezzo di massima per un servizio senza parlare con voi dei dettagli  del matrimonio. I motivi sono tanti, spostamenti, durata, trasferte, la necessità di un assistente, il prezzo può variare di molto! So quanto sia importante per voi, quindi preferisco dare un preventivo più dettagliato possibile dopo un incontro di persona.

How long have you been a professional wedding photographer?  How many weddings have you photographed?

Da quanto tempo sei fotografo di matrimonio? Quanti matrimoni hai fotografato?

I’ve been working as a professional wedding photographer in Italy for many years, I started with film, I’ve started  using  digital cameras since 2004. Today I have an archive of about  100 weddings.

Lavoro con la fotografia già da molto tempo, ho cominciato con la pellicola, mentre con il digitale ho iniziato a fotografare matrimoni dal 2004.  Attualmente ho un archivio di oltre 100 matrimoni.

 

Can you hold a date for us?

Puoi tenere in sospeso una data per noi?

I’m very sorry, I can’t hold a date until you book it  officially. Although, obviously, I’ll keep you informed of other requests while you’ll decide, but the sooner  you book, the sooner  you’ll be sure to have me at your wedding!

Mi dispiace, ma purtroppo non posso bloccare od opzionare una data finché non avviene la prenotazione ufficiale. Posso, ovviamente, prendere nota e lasciarvi il tempo di decidere, ma prima prenoterete, prima sarete sicuri di avermi al vostro matrimonio!

 

How can we arrange the payment? Can we split the cost in small payments?  Must  we pay before or after the wedding?

Come possiamo pagare? Possiamo dividere il pagamento in rate? Dobbiamo pagare prima o dopo il matrimonio?

I require full payment before the event. Payment for overtime, album upgrades or additional services, however, all due post wedding. I usually split the full cost in three payments, the first 30% valid as booking fee/retainer, another  40% 2 months  before the wedding and the last 30% one week before the wedding.

Richiedo il pagamento completo prima dell’evento. Mentre il pagamento per extra, modifiche dell’album o servizi aggiunti, faremo tutto dopo  il matrimonio. Divido i pagamenti in un 30% di anticipo, che vale come prenotazione, un  40%  due mesi prima della cerimonia ed il restante 30% entro una settimana prima del matrimonio.

 

If we have to cancel the wedding, can we have the deposit refunded?

Se dobbiamo annullare il matrimonio, possiamo riavere la caparra iniziale?

Unfortunately not. I will have reserved my time for your event, so I don’t take any other reservation for that day.

Purtroppo no. Dal momento che avete prenotato non prenderò in considerazione nessun’altra richiesta e quindi perderei non solo il vostro servizio, ma anche quello di altri eventuali clienti.

 

If the reception running late or maybe we decide to add some extras, how much more the cost will be?

Se la cerimonia si prolunga o decidiamo di aggiungere degli extra, quanto inciderà sul servizio?

Sure, if you ask me to stay for some extra time, I’ll stay for the time needed . For the extra work I’ll ask you for approval before. The extra costs will be added to the last payment at the delivery of the work.

Certamente, se mi chiederete di restare oltre l’orario stimato, resterò. Per gli extra e per il lavoro straordinario vi chiederò preventivamente l’approvazione. I costi extra verranno accreditati al momento del saldo, alla consegna del lavoro.

 

Do we need to feed you at the reception? Must we reserve you a table at the reception?

Dobbiamo prevedere un posto a tavola per il ricevimento?

It would be very nice if you did. I’d rather have lunch when you having lunch (I prefer to eat when youeat), preferably in the same room, so I won’t lose any important moments, toasts, the speeches or any  moment that is important for you.

Sarebbe veramente gentile da parte vostra. Preferirei pranzare quando voi state pranzando, possibilmente nella stessa sala dove si svolge il ricevimento, per non perdere i momenti in cui ci sarà qualcosa di importante da fotografare, un brindisi, il discorso o un momento importante per voi.

Can our family and friends take pictures with their cameras?

La nostra famiglia e gli amici possono fare fotografie con le loro macchine fotografiche?

Of course they can. I only ask that they do not distract the guests during my group shots. For the religious weddings is important that nobody bothers the ceremony, especially in the church. I also prefer to have a part of the portraiture only with the bride and groom for the more intimate shots.

Certo che possono. Gli chiedo soltanto di non distogliere l’attenzione delle persone durante gli scatti di gruppo, preferirei che tutti gli occhi siano rivolti nella nostra direzione, per evitare perdite di tempo e per avere immagini più serene. Ovviamente non disturberanno se rimarranno sullo sfondo. Preferei che familiari ed amici non vengano appresso agli sposi per le immagini in esterni o le immagini in chiesa, i sacerdoti sono molto esigenti su questo punto. Questo solo e perché, ovviamente, preferirei che non siate distratti o che addirittura vi mettano in imbarazzo! Tutte le altre macchine fotografiche saranno benvenute durante la festa, il taglio della torta e i balli.
